Ruth says she can see the river too
We're down quite a ways now, we can see the river
Both mats and both pillows. I guess she deserves it, she did hike a long way afterall.
A view of the South Rim from Bright Angel Camp
And a view of the North Rim and Phantom Ranch, home of the best beer in the world! (Note: Whatever beer they servd was the best beer in the world. It's five thousand feet below the South Rim and today it's 109°F/43°C)
The next morning we start the hike back up
We should probably cross the river at that bridge thingy down there
"Employees Only" and a windsock. Strange.
Ruth on the bridge
Last look at Bright Angel Camp
Big Ass Rock (I named it)
Rather than wait for a campsite to open up at Bright Angel, some people just pick a spot on the river
The rim sure does look far small, uh, I mean far away
Why do I always look like I think the person taking our picture needs my help to figure out the camera
I think were getting pretty close, I can't see the river anymore
Yeah, we've come a long way
Tadpoles!
Look! Shade!
We just came up that?
We have to go up that?
If you look closely, you can see people pointing at us...
